Le Erbe Selvatiche non č un albergo ma una casetta di campagna abitata tutto l'anno dai proprietari che ne affittano un piano nella stagione estiva, nella migliore tradizione del bed and breakfast.
la casa č situata in un posto ideale per chi vuole passare delle vacanze tranquille, fra i profumi e i suoni della campagna, ma nei pressi delle localitą di interesse storico, architettonico e paesagistico della zona.
la casa difatti č situata a soli 8 minuti di percorso in macchina dal casello autostradale di giarre, a 5 minuti da zafferana etnea, a 30 minuti da taormina e da catania, a 60 minuti da siracusa, a 20 minuti dalla spiaggia di fiumefreddo e a 15 minuti dalla meravigliosa scogliera e dalle terme di acireale.

My name is Sara and I share the house with a little female dog of 14 years old (Biko) and five female and male cats.
The choice of living in my parents’ country house, our holiday house where I keep all my childhood and adolescence memories, derives from the wish to live in a context as much natural as possible, but, at the same time, which gives me both the opportunity to reach the place, the places of working, and the sea which I love so much.
Such a choice probably originates from the wish to offer my dog and my cats the possibility to live in a context which is more suitable to them and surely have I been stimulated in this direction by a dear friend of mine, Alessandro Veroux.
I love to say I am a feminist woman architect (I got my University Degree at the Polythecnic in Milan, a town where I have lived for almost ten years and that I love very much. After finishing my studies, I have, however, decided to come back to Acireale, the small town where I was born.
On my living-room walls in Le erbe Selvatiche you can read a small part of my life story. I feel inside me the curiosity and the sensitiveness of both the townswoman and the countrywoman. For this reason in the very moment I decided to live in Le erbe Selvatiche I chose to give hospitality.

Such a choice probably also originates from the habit of sharing spaces since my university years as an off-site student: it is also a choice linked to something which can be seen as a contradiction: the feeling of being both a resident and a nomadic person to such an extent to live many travels through my guests’ narrations, staying, at the same time, lazily at home. I have chosen the name together with my close friend, Emma Baeri with whom I share my political commitment.
Why Le Erbe Selvatiche? I love the smell and the taste of the herbs which grow up spontaneously in the Sicilian countryside, intertwining, hiding, displaying in an intense colour-spot, herbs which are so simple and so complicated at the same time.
Maybe, I too feel a bit wild.

I have a lot of plans, but, at the moment, I’m doing just the basic things: the adjusting of the electrical system, the heating system, the working out of small masonry and carpentry repairs, plaster and painting of the walls, using the local dirts. In such works my brother Saverio, who is an architect too, is helping me.
For the work with plaster and painting my friend and colleague, Andrea Facchi and his assistants, Santo and Vito are giving an essential contribution.
In fact, they have been the first guests at Le Erbe Selvatiche . I surely think that this house can be modified thanks to the help of those who would like to participate with their advice and their ideas into a project which aims at giving a new opportunity to this space. It could become not only a place where it is possible to spend quiet holidays, but also a meeting point for exchanging cultural and human competences and resources.
A special thank to Elena Poli, a colleague and a friend of mine from Milan, for helping me in the implementation of the internet site.
